JUNK SEX VS LOVING SEX – SOCIAL AND ORGANIC DISEASES

Posted on April 9th, 2009, by admin

Likewise, social and organic diseases often have a psychological component that is somehow related to frustrated sexuality. Prisons hold individuals whose sexual drives have become twisted and whose aggressive drives have become stuck in the mode of trying to destroy the environment that has failed to meet their needs. Maladies such as cancer, heart disease, and stroke may also be connected in part to chronic sexual frustration. I have observed, in my own practice, that those who suffer from cancer invariably are emotionally and sexually alienated—that is, they are the living dead—and generally harbor deep sexual conflicts.

Another way of putting this is that the more energy an individual expends on defense (resisting intimacy with others), the less one will become truly actualized as a human being and in harmony with others and with nature. Certainly, it is necessary to be defended in the everyday world. The trouble is that most people are much too defensive when they should not be, and not defensive enough when they should be. They are out of tune. Sexuality is nature’s way of helping humans retune themselves, to work through unnecessary resistances and the underlying pent-up feelings.
